Yes, there are Colorado Medicaid programs specifically designed to support people with disabilities. These programs, including Health First Colorado (Colorado Medicaid) disability-based coverage and Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Waivers, provide additional services to individuals with disabilities.

Colorado offers Medicaid services through managed care, and Medicare Advantage plans are available to those eligible for Medicare (federal health insurance for people 65 or older and people with disabilities). Medicare Advantage in Colorado offers essential benefits like care coordination to people with disabilities, certain medical conditions, or those who qualify for both Medicaid and Medicare.

A Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing program, In-Home Support Services (IHSS) lets you hire a family member or loved one to be your paid caregiver. Pay ranges from $14.00 to $18.00 per hour across the state and is tied to local policy and funding.

In-Home Support Services (IHSS) providers are home care agencies that have been approved by the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing to deliver services. If you are Medicaid-eligible and prefer to place your care needs in a loved one, contact Andrea’s Angels to sign up for IHSS.

In-Home Support Services (IHSS) is a participant-directed Colorado Medicaid-funded program, meaning you hire your loved one—a family member, friend, or neighbor—to be your paid caregiver. The Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing program financially compensates your loved one for their valuable time and effort.

Homemakers are care professionals who help seniors and people with disabilities carry out everyday tasks and household responsibilities. They create a safe and comfortable environment for individuals by assisting with meal preparation, grocery shopping and errands, and cleaning and light housekeeping.

To become an Andrea's Angels caregiver, you must be 18 or older, pass a background check, and be authorized to work in the U.S. Check our Careers page to see Personal Care Worker (PCW), Homemaker, or Independent Living Skills Trainer (ILST) openings and fill out the online application.

You can become a paid caregiver for your loved one with Andrea’s Angels In-Home Support Services (IHSS). Managed by the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing, IHSS is a Medicaid-funded program where you can earn a paycheck to provide care to your family member at home.

Caregivers help seniors and people with disabilities perform day-to-day tasks and personal care, including dressing, bathing, and grooming. In addition, they enhance the quality of life of the individuals they care for by providing companionship, especially for those isolated or living alone.
