Health First Colorado: Medicaid
Health First Colorado is Colorado’s Medicaid program for low-income residents. Medicaid is a federal and state program that provides healthcare coverage to low-income individuals and families who meet certain criteria. Medicaid covers eligible members’ home care services.
Private Pay or Self-Pay
You can still receive home care and brain injury services if you do not have Colorado Medicaid (Health First Colorado). We accept private pay or out-of-pocket payment, meaning you pay directly for your care. This way, you do not have to rely on Colorado Medicaid to get needed services.

In-Home Support Services (IHSS) is a Colorado Medicaid-funded program that lets you hire a loved one as your paid caregiver. With the support of our home care agency, you can choose and manage a family member, friend, or neighbor to be your caregiver. Your family caregiver is competitively paid for their valuable time and effort.
Respite care is a short-term break for caregivers. It gives peace of mind to caregivers needing a break from the demands of caregiving and families knowing they are still being cared for. We are a respite care provider, allowing you or your loved one to remain home as a temporary substitute meets care needs.
If you or your loved one have experienced an acquired or traumatic brain injury (TBI), achieve greater independence at home with Independent Living Skills Training (ILST). Available through Colorado Medicaid, our ILST trainers work with you or your loved one to learn the skills necessary to live safely and independently. ILST helps you or your loved one regain life skills impacted by a brain injury.
